Almost every Abu Dhabi learner spends time here, because EDC training, theory and the road test all run in and around Mussafah. The roads are a mix of industrial arterials, roundabout-dense junctions and wide service roads that closely match the test routes.

Mussafah is home to EDC (Emirates Driving Company), the emirate's largest licensed school: phone 600 588 880, edcad.ae. Most EDC training, theory and road tests happen at or near this campus. YDA on Yas Island is the alternative (~25–35 min).
The driving-licence eye test was privatised in 2021. Major opticians such as Al Jaber Optical, Yateem and Grand Optics are approved, and the result is sent in digitally. Find the nearest approved centre with the TAMM 'Driving Institute, Optician or Translation Centre' locator on tamm.abudhabi.
Opening your file, booking and most licence paperwork are handled online through TAMM or the TAMM app — no typing centre needed for most steps. Your driving school can also open the file for you, and TAMM service points across the city handle anything that needs to be done in person.
If you train with EDC, your road test runs on routes around the Mussafah campus — which is why local practice here is such an advantage. There's no separate test centre.
